The Network of Young Professionals committees are designed to help you improve your leadership and networking skills.

Events

Committee Chair: Wendy Gerlach, Vice President

The mission of the Events Committee is to arrange events for NET members, and to make members more aware of fun activities in the Lehigh Valley, including social and cultural events. In addition, the Events Committee is responsible for promoting NET events with help from the Marketing and Public Relations Committee. The Events Committee reports to the Vice President.

Sports

Committee Chair: Cory Crawford

The Sports Committee, a subset of the events committee, oversees the creation and activities of NET-sponsored sports clubs, and intramural sports teams. In addition, the Sports Committee is responsible for promoting its events with help from the Marketing and Public Relations Committee.

Professional Development

Committee Chair: Margaret McConnell

The Professional Development Committee carries out NET’s mission to advance young professionals. This includes business etiquette seminars and business card exchanges among other things. In addition, the Professional Committee is responsible for promoting its events with help from the Marketing and Public Relations Committee. The Professional Development Committee reports to the Vice President.

Community Outreach

Committee Chair: Meredith Palmateer

The Community Outreach Committee sponsors volunteer events for the NET and helps member connect with volunteer opportunities. In addition, the Community Outreach Committee is responsible for promoting its events with help from the Marketing and Public Relations Committee. The Community Outreach Committee reports to the Vice President.

Government Relations

Committee Chair: Abraham Nemitz

The Government Relations Committee is responsible for maintaining relationships with government entities, primarily involving meeting quarterly Pennsylvania Young Professionals, and TeamPA. In addition, it maintains relationships with local, state, and federal officials. The Government Relations Committee reports to the President.

Membership

Committee Chair: Tara Sommerfield

The Membership Committee oversees the membership dues and database. The committee organizes the collection of dues and disbursement of welcome packets. In addition, the Membership Committee is responsible for promoting dues-paying membership with help from the Marketing and Public Relations Committee. The Membership Committee reports to the Secretary.

Financial Committee

Committee Chair: Treasurer

The Financials Committee develops a budget for the organization and to review and audit the financial activities of the organization and of the Treasurer. It develops and executes ways to increase NET funds. It assists in the collection and tracking of NET funds. It is responsible for seeking out and applying for grants, as well as building business relationships with sponsors. The Treasurer is an ex-officio member of the committee. The Financial Committee reports to the Treasurer.

Marketing and Public Relations

Committee Chair: Vanessa Williams

The mission of the Marketing and Public Relations Committee is to promote the Network of Young Professionals and its activities. This includes NET publications, website and media relations. The Marketing and Public Relations Committee reports to the President.
